26 Weeks.....What?

I CAN'T believe that I'm already 26 weeks. I feel like I just found out I was pregnant. And, now I'm in my THIRD trimester. What?

Thankfully, everything is going well. I had a level two ultrasound a few weeks ago, since I am now old, and everything looked well. The bleeding membrane healed, the placenta is in a good spot and the baby looks great.

We didn't find out the gender, because that would ruin the surprise. David thinks he saw that it was a boy, but I was looking at the same screen and I didn't see any clues. Well, odds are its either a boy or a girl.

I have been walking for a mile on the treadmill five days a week and doing a few leg lifts and arm weights afterwards. So, I attribute that to my blood pressure being at a good number the last few doctors visits I've had. Even though I'm old now.

Did I mention the fact that I'm old now?

Because if I didn't, it must've slipped my feeble mind, because the doctors certainly didn't forget. They've mentioned it at least 85 times.

Since February.

It's apparently all downhill after 35. Who knew?

At least I'll have muscles.

Oh goodness I just laugh everytime the Dr's bring up the age I will be when I deliver the baby because gasp I turn 35 in 2 weeks! I tell them that it's ok because my birthmom had me at 39 so i'm not too worried.

No, you're not old you're older. In the "older mom" category. Or you could say the "older mom high risk" category. I just turned 40, and was 36 at the time of my husband's death. People occasionally would say "oh you could still have kids", but now I feel more established in saying I'm too old!(there are other high-risk factors too)
Anyway, I'm glad your pregnancy is going well in spite of falling into that category. Take good care of yourself and your family. And remember, even though you're in that category, you're still in the prime of life!

I was 39 when my last was born. My sweet midwife knows me so well, she never mentions it...or those tests she knows I won't let them perform. : )
